What is a Developmental Pediatrician?

A Developmental Pediatrician is a physician who completed training in General Pediatrics and then completed a fellowship focusing specifically on Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. These fellowships include advanced training on evaluating and helping children with a variety of developmental differences including Autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and learning differences. Children should continue to see their primary care pediatricians for healthy checkups and sick visits (e.g. ear ache or sore throat) but can also see a Developmental Pediatrician if there are concerns related to development or behavior.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently out of network with insurance companies but will provide you with a detailed superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please call your insurance company to ask about any “Out of Network” benefits.

Being out of network allows me to spend more time with each patient and provide a very high level of flexible and personalized care.

What forms of payment are accepted?

I accept credit card. Full payment is due at the beginning of the first visit.

How often should my child see you?

After an initial evaluation, I provide a detailed written report of my findings and recommendations. Depending on the concerns, a child will usually follow up with me every 6 to 12 months.

Do you prescribe medication?

At this time, I am not prescribing medications myself but am happy to discuss medication options in detail with you (when applicable) and can provide suggestions for you to discuss with your child’s primary care pediatrician. I can also make referrals to local child psychiatrists for medication management if needed.
